How do I quilt a pictorial quilt? Part 2

Here’s another flower ready for a makeover in Photoshop using the oil paint filter.  This one has a few water drops on it which will produce a different quilting design than if it had none.  These water drops create an opportunity to go to town with trapunto.

Although the petals can be quilted in several ways, this heavily quilted design will add a very subtle texture to the quilt.  I would also trapunto each petal as it would offset the flattening out effect of the dense quilting so it brings the rose to life.  The pronounced layering of the petals with great shadows are just begging for it.

How would you quilt this rose?

Happy quilting,

Fiona
